THE MURDER OF BHARAT

It is tragic. No, I am not referring to just the orchastrated suicide of the second year Phd student of the Central University of Hyderabad.

What did it matter to the Parivar, whose members, under the watch of the so called strongest man on Earth, orchastrated the murder of thousands in cold blood, killing even an unborn child by cutting open the womb of an innocent young mother. It was just another young, (Barely 25), bright dalit light which got extinguished for ever, on paper through suicide, but in reality, due an institutional murder.

I am really lamenting the murder of my beloved Bharat, my country by birth and that of my forefathers, as far as I know, from eternity. The dastardly deed is already done.

My Bharat, which with equinamity, absorved successive waves of marauding foreign raiders, since antiquity and yet, maintained its acclaimed philosophy of 'Vishwam Kuttumbakam', has been done-in by the poison of widespread fascist communalism.

They cry hoarse, "There is no intolerance" and yet, every step of every day that we walk today, willy nilly, we are forced to breathe-in unadulterated intolerance, the 2.5 microm particulates of the social environment.

Police tool wings across four states to arrest a hapless innocent commedian, just playing his ascribed role on a stage; past mid-night, without an arrest warrant on the basis of a mere complaint, because the complainant is close to the powers that be.

On the other hand a similar complaint, (For which a FIR has been recorded), of a dismissable small time religious akhara leader, against a powerful figure, close to the ruling dispensation, lies unactioned.

Poor members of a minority community are attacked by communal vigilantes on the mere supicion of carrying beef. While the CP of Delhi warns the CM of his state that the Homegaurds have no authority to stop or take action against violators of the odd-even transport policy and threatens arrest if any one of them take law into their own hands, who will take action against the vigilantes at large all over the Country? Instead, all those who came out in support of the victim couple were arrested by the Police. The victims were so traumatised that they did not have heart to even lodge a complaint.

A man from the Parivar, already booked for earlier communal violence in a town in UP, has directly threatened the SSP of the town, communal violence if the accused of a three year old rape case, were not actioned against immediately. The SSP, finds himself impotently unable to arrest the offender and instead mouths hollow sounding bravado.

There are hundreds of such cases, which go unactioned and even unreported.

And now this. The Brahminical class could not stand to see a young, poor, bright Phd student to cross swords with them and sought support from a Union Minister, who promptly wrote to his concerned colleague, a great scholar, the HRD Minister, allegging that the dalit students were indulging in anti-National activities and ensured letters were written to the VC of the Hyderabad 'Central' University'. This resulted in immediate action against the errant students.

Five schollarly Phd students were promptly expelled. They were, however, later reinstated after an enquiry found them innocent. Not being happy with that, the VVIP controlling the University, wrote four letters, enquiring about action taken. A new VC re-suspended the five , barring all of them from the all the institutions of the University, including the hostels, but excluding class room and library.

The poor five dalits were forced to sleep on the streets of the University in the biting cold of the Winter months.

On resuspension and expulsion, the union went on strike followed up a few days later with hunger strike. Not a soul, amongst the authorities, stirred. "వదలివేసిన ది buggers మరణించడానికి", seemed to be the sense.

After days of humiliation, Rohith, the poor but proud dalit, could bear it no more, went to a fellow student's room and hanged himeself. A line in his suicide note said it all :

"My birth is my fatal accident".

The faithfulls say, "Well the Minister is also a MP from Secunderabad. It is his duty to see to local affairs". Well, if that was so, why did the Minister use his Minister's letter head?

The learned HRD Minister says:
"Well, ONSTITUTIONALLY, I am not in a posion to take any action as it is administratively independent and law and order is a State Subject". Well, how then has she sent an enquiry committee? Is the University not fully funded by the Centre? It is a Central University!

The local Police are no different from the Police any where else. They forceably took away the body from the prents and illegally cremated it on their own. They are in contempt of law of the land !

None of the authority has bothered to even meet the parents, who are parked just outside the University gates.

The Ministers, the VC and all the top authorities of the University are prima-facie complicit.

And while the Country burns, Niro plays his flute.

Saw and heard the 'Great Man', mocking at the seven decades gone past and chest thumping in an election state, boasting, the way he did during Bihar elections, of the thousand of crores given by the Centre for the State. Some never learn lessons. do they?

I call upon all my Sisters, Brothers and Friends of Bharat to rise as one and oppose the present regime to turn this Communally Fascist tide which has drowned the Nation through every legal means. do not be silent spectators for the sake of our great Nation called Bharat.

It is ironical that as I write this piece, heavens are crying at Hyderabad.

I rest my case.
